"Art is a lie that brings us closer to the truth."

Although Picasso was most probably talking about studio art, this quote sums up my acting experience pretty accurately. As a performer, my purpose is twofold: to examine the reality of the world as it is and to explore the possibility of the world as it could be. Acting isn't about body and voice control; these are simply tools we use to show people we are connected and, in turn, to challenge their imagination.

Although I am most comfortable in comedic roles, like the flamboyant gossip Cupid from Jeff Goode's The Eight, I've had the immense privilege of also performing in serious and sombre productions, namely Untitled Reconstruction Project, a dramatic reenactment of 1860s testimony about regional KKK violence. My dream role? I'd kill to be Jafar in Disney's Aladdin, but honestly any fictional villain would do.
